The present invention is a specific mechanical device intended for carrying out uniaxial tensile tests in the direction of 90° with respect to the axis of symmetry of a metal tube. The montage is distinguished from previous montages by the originality of its D-block which contains rollers. The purpose of roller D-blocks is to minimize the effect of metal-to-metal friction between the ring specimen and the D-block. The presence of the rollers and their possibility of rotation in the new D-block reduces the contact surface with the ring specimen and minimizes the tangential force that the specimen undergoes during the sliding test. These findings are confirmed by experimental tests.
